The singer who has been grieving the loss of her husband since 2016, assures news outlet, "It’s true that I’m a little thinner. Everything’s fine, nothing’s wrong."
51-year-old singer, Celine Dion was undoubtedly one of the prime focuses during Paris Fashion Week. Every outfit she chose to drape herself in proved that she is and will forever be a style icon. During this celebration of fashion, the Canadian star fearlessly pulled off high fashion pieces in the chicest way possible. Be it the pantless graffiti off-white attire or Ronald Van Der Kemp's black and the white blazer teamed with a yellow tutu skirt look, she created memorable fashion moments every step of the way.
However, the highlight has to be the trailblazing red 3D netted dress that she wore to designer Iris van Herpen's show. Of course, the mesh-worked dressed seemed to be a sure recipe for a fashion slip up, that being said the experienced 'My heart will go on' singer glided in the dress with the absolute ease and came out on top. The Iris van Herpen designed dress was uploaded by Vogue Australia and captioned: Celine Dion has become a regular fixture at the haute couture shows and as the seasons progress it's becoming clear that she might just be couture's biggest fan.
Already, the pop music icon has stolen the show for autumn/winter ’19/’20 with her incredible street style and front row ensembles–like this Iris van Herpen number. In the bio link, we chronicle Dion’s most scene-stealing looks this couture week so far, continued the post. While numerous fans agreed with the statement, they had some serious concerns for the legendary singer's health after witnessing her in the bold plunging neckline dress.
Fans worry for 'scarily thin' Celine Dion after fashion week appearance https://t.co/uiZRk3IXtI— tresh prey (@PreyTresh) July 9, 2019
Pointing at the "scarily thin" star's appearance, one of them wrote: She looks way to thin. Another user agreed to this and wrote: I’ve seen her in a few posts and she is seriously underweight. Not a good look. @missrazia expressed her concern and wrote: Someone needs to talk to this woman, she is not a good representation of beauty and fashion 😔Her body is frail; she look ill. Poor thing 😔 Even @karenf123 could not ignore this fact and she commented: Fab voice and fashionista, but my God she looks scarily thin. 😱
But there were some supporters who did indeed side with the singer. @tash_jones83 wrote: For all those hating on this photo, shame on you. Yes, she is thin, she has also lost the love of her life, raised twins, and lost her brother. Stop judging on the look and maybe comment on how strong she is to still be out there doing her thing after all life has thrown at her...... #shameonyouall. Another wrote: Why do we have to judge how she looks!! We are all beautiful in our own unique & fabulous way 🙌
Some when on to call out the fashion magazine for posting a rather "unflattering" of the singing icon. One of the users wrote: Bad pic of a Queen! Vogue don’t you feel something is wrong? It's not a friendly pic. Another comment read: The dress symbolizes degeneration of human tissue, vitality and all things of life. A slow decomposition. This is a sad look. I’ve seen many an old lady wrapped in finer grace with eternity beaming from their hearts. This is the opposite. @aledequevedo wrote: Shame on you Vogue Australia, Celine Dion is stunning and this picture is not posted with good intention.
Amidst these mixed reactions, the concern for her health was quite evident. This can be perfectly summed up by one of the comments which read: 😮 very under Weight...🤗😘Celine has been always a thin build, but she is too thin. Hope all is 👌 ok. Back in January during an interview with The Sun, Dion addressed these body-shamers and said, "If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture," said the Grammy winner. "If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone."
Speaking about her recent loss, 51-year-old explained how losing her husband of 22 years changed something in her. She told informed PEOPLE how she has taken up ballet and "I do this four times a week." She further added, "People say, ‘She’s a lot thinner,’ but I’m working hard. I like to move and (weight loss) comes with it." The singer credits this activity to her chiseled figure. Assuring ABC News she said, "It’s true that I’m a little thinner. Everything’s fine, nothing’s wrong." Celine is not ready to pay heed to any body-shaming comments because she feels like she's at her best right now. "To be honest with you, I think I’m at the best of my life right now and I really want to enjoy and embrace every moment of it," she told The Sun.
