Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, has tested positive for Coronavirus and is now in isolation, reports CNN. Upon her return from a speaking engagement in London, Sophie has been showing mild flu-like symptoms and is feeling well, but she will remain in isolation for 14 days. Meanwhile, it's been reported that the prime minister is not being tested at this time. Health officials reported that they will be reaching out to the people that have been in contact with Sophie Trudeau.

Justin Trudeau is expected to continue with his duties and he also has plans to address Canadians on Friday. Cameron Ahmad, the prime minister’s communications director, tweeted an update with a statement, according to CNBC. “Following medical advice, she will remain in isolation for the time being. She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild."

The prime minister himself is in “good health with no symptoms,” Ahmad said. “As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days,” the statement added. “Also on the advice of doctors, he will not be tested at this stage since he has no symptoms.” Ahmad then shared a personal statement from Sophie Trudeau herself. "To all my friends, family, beloved Canadians, and allies everywhere," she starts her message.  "First, I'd like to say a big thank you to all of you who have reached out to me asking how I'm doing. Although I'm experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon."

"Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns. We will get through this situation together. Please share the facts and take your health seriously. I send you all my courage and warm thoughts (but only "get better" hugs from afar!) Sincerely, Sophie." She had just returned from a speaking engagement in London and that's when she began exhibiting “mild flu-like symptoms including a low fever” late Wednesday. Canada has at least 138 confirmed cases, according to government data as of Thursday.
