The waitress unknowingly became the bride's accomplice.
Weddings are supposed to be beautiful, but sometimes it can get very hectic. Most often, brides have to worry about things being exactly the way they want them to be. After all, they are the stars of the show, all decked in white. Weddings also come with an unwritten rule that the guests shouldn't wear white because that's the color of the bride's outfit, isn't it? However, one woman showed up at her son's wedding wearing white, the same as the bride. The poor bride probably had no idea what to do, but it seems like luck was on her side, because one of the waitresses at the event unknowingly turned into her accomplice.
According to Bored Panda, TikTok user Chloe (@chloe_beeee) served at the wedding, and it was the first and only event Chloe had worked at. Since it was her first event, she was doing everything in her capability to make it a memorable day for the party, but the woman, who is dyspraxic, says she worked in silver service. She then went on to add how that wasn't the best fit for her since she's quite clumsy and is always dropping things. "It was the only wedding I ever served and I accidentally spilt a whole boat of gravy onto the lap of the mother-in-law of the bride," she said.
She continued, "It was hot and it was everywhere and it didn't burn her, thank God. She had to go and get changed at home, so she had to actually drive and go and get changed, luckily they were all local." It didn't come as a surprise that Chloe was in tears because she thought she'd ruined the bride's special day by spilling gravy all over the mother-in-law's dress. However, she wasn't prepared for what was about to happen. "The bride came over to me and shook my hand and she thanked me. She said my mother-in-law should not have been wearing white to my wedding day and then she gave me a £55 ($75) tip and if I see her in town now we still say hi."
Chloe truly was an angel is disguise, but instead of wearing a halo, she carried a gravy boat. One user said, "Are you sure the £55 tip came after the accident and not before?" Another wrote, "Not all heroes wear capes, some carry gravy boats." A third user added, "She probably tells everyone about the person who saved her on her wedding day." Yet another commented, "My mother-in-law told me she was wearing white to our wedding. Rather than give her the argument she wanted I wore a black gown instead." The mother-in-law truly deserved what she got and this just proves that karma is real.
In a different situation, a woman shared how her mother-in-law also wore white to the wedding, but there was a reason behind it. The woman took to Twitter to share why: " My mother-in-law is extremely frugal. And I don't mean she just enjoys a good bargain. To understand her, you have to know where she comes from. She grew up in extreme poverty. As a child, she used to sneak into the kitchen and eat match heads. That's a pica craving, and kids do it when they're malnourished. When you grow up with nothing, it stays with you. Forever, I think. No matter how much money you earn, there's always that little fear in the back of your mind that someone might take it all away."
So, a couple people have asked for the story behind The Dress. Sorry for the delay! I have four kids (yes, I married him) on summer break, so my permanent state of being is "frazzled." I called my daughter "mom" the other day.— Amy Pennza (@AmyPennza) June 20, 2019
