Videos of the incident show Schwarzenegger standing and filming children at a sporting event in Johannesburg when an unidentified man jumps in for a flying kick into his back.
During a public appearance in South Africa, Arnold Schwarzenegger was assaulted. There seemed no injuries as the 71-year-old quickly recovered and said, “I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat," according to HuffPost. Videos of the incident show Schwarzenegger standing and filming children at a sporting event in Johannesburg when an unidentified man jumps in for a flying kick into his back. Immediately, the security present grabs the man, and someone can be heard shouting "help me" in the background. Soon after this, Arnold can be seen smiling and shaking hands with the bystanders present there, but he walks out afterward in between a circle formed by security.

Later, he took to Twitter to post: Thanks for your concerns, but there is nothing to worry about. I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat. The actor was attending the Arnold Classic Africa event when the incident took place. Arnold Classic Africa features dozens of sports and fitness activities.
You barely even flinched, King! I apologise on behalf of S.A. Thanks for visiting :)— Shaista (@shai__latte) May 19, 2019
Apparently, the event claimed the attack was because of a "crazed fan". In a statement, the event's organizer Wayne Price said the assailant was “known to the police for orchestrating similar incidents in the past”, while he also added that Schwarzenegger was “fine and still in good spirits.” On Sunday, Schwarzenegger announced on social media that he had no plans of pressing charges against the attacker.

A lot of you have asked, but I’m not pressing charges. I hope this was a wake-up call, and he gets his life on the right track. But I’m moving on and I’d rather focus on the thousands of great athletes I met at @ArnoldSports Africa, tweeted the actor. A user named Organdy Gin Shin wrote: Only in South Africa would someone even dare to fly kick Arnold Schwarzenegger. No chill! Mr. Woodo added: Arnold Schwarzenegger: *Gets violently drop kicked in the back* Oh? I thought I was just jostled by the crowd. Fascist: *gets hit by milkshake* Egads! Wherefore art thy local constabulary! I hast been grievously assaulted!
Do me a favor: instead of sharing the video of the guy who wants to be famous, watch some of our @ArnoldSports athletes like this young hero proving that fitness is for everyone who deserve to be famous. They’re on my Snapchat. pic.twitter.com/EuMynJ7t1n— Arnold (@Schwarzenegger) May 18, 2019
Magitek Warrior commented:#SouthAfrican who has strong moral values - walks up and introduces himself to @Schwarzenegger :-( @Schwarzenegger I hope you can forgive South Africans. I'm hoping our values will change in the future. I don't know the motive for this attack on you, but I know you're NOT a racist. Another user named Jehvuns added: Arnold Schwarzenegger is seventy-two yet is completely unphased after getting dropkicked in the back he scares me.
We have 90 sports here in South Africa at the @ArnoldSports, and 24,000 athletes of all ages and abilities inspiring all of us to get off the couch. Let’s put this spotlight on them.— Arnold (@Schwarzenegger) May 18, 2019
Layne Norton shared his opinion: Full running start and couldn’t even drop him. And @Schwarzenegger takes it like a boss not even pressing charges. The man is a legend. Proof some people are just born winners lol. Gus agreed as he added: That guy drop-kicked a 71 years old man in the back and didn't even manage to make him fall. Imagine the shame. Marvin wrote: You are the greatest. And he probably broke both his ankles while you didn't even move an inch. Legend.
And if you have to share the video (I get it), pick a blurry one without whatever he was yelling so he doesn’t get the spotlight.— Arnold (@Schwarzenegger) May 18, 2019
