While many are scared, worried, and panicking amid this pandemic, some people are just downright insensitive and stupid. Recently, three teenagers coughed into an elderly couple's faces and this incident left the elderly woman with a black eye, reports Daily Mail. The teenagers, aged 19, 18 and 16, approached the elderly in the market town of Hitchin, Hertfordshire on Friday. Out of these three boys, one of them is believed to have coughed on their faces. Then, a scuffle broke out, and it left the woman, who is in her seventies, with a black eye. The teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm, affray, and criminal damage. This comes especially after the government announced that walking within six feet of an elderly or vulnerable person could put them in mortal danger of contracting the virus.

According to Hertfordshire Police, the elderly woman was taken to hospital for a check-up and later discharged. The woman's vehicle, which was parked in the Paynes Park area of the town, also suffered damages. A man who intervened was also bruised. The suspects were questioned and released under investigation. Cops have now requested anyone with contact with the three teens to reach out to them.

This prompted Prime Minister Boris Johnson to deliver a strict warning to Britons during his daily coronavirus press conference on Sunday, where he urged people to stay at least six feet - or two meters - away from one another, even in outdoor spaces. Despite the government's advice, people were spotted thronging in huge crowds in parks and beaches. Earlier, we reported that two teens from Virginia allegedly recorded themselves coughing on produce in a local grocery store last week and uploaded the video on social media. The incident took place last Wednesday in Purcellville, about an hour’s drive northwest of Washington, D.C. Police said the teens admitted to their involvement and determined there was no “criminal intent.”

They took to Facebook to post: Yesterday, March 18, 2020, an incident occurred at a local grocery store involving juveniles reportedly coughing on produce, while filming themselves and posting it on social media. Police responded and are currently investigating the incident. The grocery store immediately removed the items in question and has taken appropriate measures to ensure the health of store patrons. We are asking for parental assistance in monitoring your teenagers’ activities, as well as their social media posts to avoid the increase of any further such incidents. We have learned that this appears to be a disturbing trend on social media across the country, and we ask for help from parents to discourage this behavior immediately.

Please talk with your children and explain to them why such behavior is wrong, especially given the current situation regarding the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). We also take this opportunity to remind parents and children of the Town of Purcellville’s curfew, which states it is unlawful for any minor under the age of 18 years to loiter or remain on any street, park or public place in the town between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and daylight of the following day unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. These stunts aren't really sitting well with netizens. It's during times like these that people need to be vigilant and watch out for one another, instead of pulling pranks.
