The mention of witches and wizards have long been a part of the books we read and the shows we binge-watch. It also has a special mention in history and legend has it that New Orleans is the most haunted place in the whole of the US. The city's official website states that New Orleans "is a place where the dead refuse to rest, in fact, there is no solid ground to hold them." Now, this explains why this city has a special mention in most vampire/ghost-related movies, right? Of course, these franchises have an avid fan-following and there are people who truly believe in the existence of the supernatural.

There are people who get an adrenalin rush out of touring haunted places and New Orleans is opening up a whole weekend dedicated for this purpose. A report by Narcity states that there's a whole weekend dedicated to Witches, rootworkers, Voodoo priests and other magical teachers, and it's New Orleans' only witch festival, Hex Fest. Oooh! I may not really be in full 'spirit' for this tour but I have to admit this does make me curious.

Speaking of haunted, the Bourbon hotel in New Orleans is said to be the most haunted building in the entire city, so it makes complete sense that the Hex Fest will be taking place there. So, if you really want to go for this and experience the vibe, you've got enough time to plan your entire trip because it's happening later this year. It takes place from August 7 through 9, 2020. The Bourbon Orleans is located right in the center of the French Quarter next to St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square, both known for their magical and mystical history.

The hotel also has a beautiful pool and you don't really have to shell out money or die of fear because to participate in the fest, you don't have to stay at the hotel. "The conference opens with a Riverboat Ritual and dinner, held on an authentic steamboat on the Mississippi River, followed by two full days of workshops, drumming, and ritual at the hotel," reads the Hex Fest website. For aspiring witches and vampires, this is the PERFECT place to be for the experience of your lifetime.

The presenters for the fest range from an Australian world-record-holding skydiver to shamans and witch doctors to a High Priestess of the New Orleans Coven. This makes sure there's something for everyone to enjoy and learn from! Of course, like all good things, there's a limit to the number of people that can be a part of the fest. The festival is limited to 300 witches, so if you want to guarantee your spot, I'd suggest you book your tickets as soon as possible. The tickets are priced at $350 and the address is 717 Orleans St., New Orleans, LA.
